The Cavendish London has been a hotel on its present site since 1966, with a Cavendish hotel having existed since the mid-nineteenth century. The Petrichor restaurant and bar serves our quintessential afternoon tea every day between 1pm – 6pm. There is nothing more British than Afternoon Tea. Experience a quintessential tradition dating back to the 1840’s when this afternoon treat was first introduced in England by Anna, the seventh Duchess of Bedford. The Cavendish London’s afternoon tea is constantly updated to ensure guests enjoy the very best of the season.
The Duke and Duchess afternoon tea offers a delicate selection of mini cakes and pastries alongside traditional scones with clotted cream and preserves. The finger sandwiches consist of the most classic fillings, smoked Scottish salmon, chicken coronation, free range egg and watercress and some seasonal offerings. A choice of fair-trade Newby teas are also on offer or, for those who prefer something a little bubblier, try our bottomless afternoon tea served with refillable prosecco or champagne for 90 minutes. Vegan and gluten-free afternoon tea options are also available upon request.
