........But there is always a wonderfully warm and friendly welcome awaiting our guests at The Cavendish as you arrive to experience the wonder that is Christmas-time this December in London.
There really is nowhere else like London at this festive time of the year and whether you’re staying to see one of the many West End shows, do your Christmas shopping or simply treating yourself before the flurry of Christmas events at home, we can guarantee there will be something for you to experience and explore during your stay with us.

LET'S MAKE A SONG AND DANCE ABOUT IT.........

Being so close to London’s West End theatre land makes The Cavendish the ideal base to see that show you’ve been promising yourself all year.
Disney’s Frozen the musical, is the hottest hit to arrive in the West End of late. The story of Elsa and Anna is told with breath taking scenery and jaw dropping special effects to a musical backdrop which includes brand new tracks from the writers of the phenomenal hit ‘let it go’. If you’re able to log on early, a limited number of Disney Day Tickets are available for just £20 on the day of the performance but, be quick, they don’t hang around. Check out the website for full details and to book tickets directly at  www.frozenthemusical.co.uk

And would Christmas be Christmas without a pantomime? Oh no it wouldn’t!
There are a number of pantos and panto themed shows on at the moment guaranteed to bring out the inner child in you and leave you rolling in the aisles. From the star-studded ‘Pantoland’ at the Palladium starring Donny Osmond and Julian Cleary, which is the ultimate feel-good panto, to the madness that is ‘Potted Panto’  at the Garrick Theatre – a mashup of seven of your favourite shows from Cinderella to Aladdin and Jack & the Beanstalk. It’s mad, it’s crazy and whether you’re 6 or 86, you’ll love it!

If more classical entertainment is your thing then don’t miss the English National Ballet’s exquisite production of the magical Christmas tale of ‘The Nutcracker’. Performed by over 100 dancers and musicians, Tchaikovsky’s beautiful score is played live for this unmissable seasonal treat. The story of Clara, who receives an enchanted nutcracker on Christmas Eve, takes the audience on a mystical adventure which sees her battling the Mouse King and taking a hot air balloon ride over glistening London. Many people make this part of their seasonal celebrations every year so tickets go quickly especially following sell out performances in 2018 and 2019.
Book direct at https://www.ballet.org.uk/production/nutcracker/ The Nutcracker is also being performed by the Royal Ballet at the Royal Opera House.

SHOPP ‘TILL YOU DROP

A trip to the capital wouldn’t be complete without some shopping, especially at this time of the year. Being on the doorstep of London’s key shopping areas makes The Cavendish perfect for popping down to glitz of Regent Street and Oxford Street with their amazing shimmering lights and window displays.
All the big high street names are there but if you’re looking for something a bit different, just off Oxford Street you’ll also find the hidden gem that is Connaught Village shopping district. Offering fashionable gifts including vintage books, antique jewellery and exclusive pieces of artwork, it’s the place to find a special gift for that special someone. Here you will also find pre-owned designer items at The Dresser. This boutique is renowned amongst stylists and savvy fashionistas for its high-end designer wear at discounted, pre-loved prices - just the place to land some Louis Vuitton or seize some Chanel!
There are also numerous Christmas markets around the capital including Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park where you can try skating on the UK’s biggest outdoor ice rink or, whilst on Regent’s street, pop along to Selfridge’s Christmas market which takes place on Edwards Mews. Take in some sizzling street food or purchase a personalised wreath made in front of you. Leicester Square also boasts a traditional Christmas market filled with a wonderful array of crafts, gifts and tempting seasonal treats; Even King’s Cross Station doesn’t miss out with its ‘Christmas under the Canopy’ market showcasing food tastings, carol singers and independent, ethical and sustainable vendors until 22nd December.

AND SO TO BED

With so much on offer during December, we think you’ll be exhausted at the end of a busy day with tired feet and a slim-line wallet, so retiring to a snug and comfortable luxury bed will be bliss. But before you retire to your room, why not finish your shopping spree with a sumptuous Cavendish afternoon tea of delightful sandwiches and cake or enjoy a cocktail in the bar before returning to the refuge of your room.
And remember, if you’re spoiling that special someone with a pre-Christmas treat, our celebration package will allow you to relax in the comfort of your room with a chilled bottle of champagne and mouth-watering chocolates – so what’s not to love.
Christmas is the most wonderful time of year and we’d be delighted if you choose to spend some of it with us here at The Cavendish, we’d be thrilled to welcome you with the very best of everything the festive season has to offer.
