Eventsthen run throughout the month with the anniversary parade taking place onSaturday 2nd July. The parade route this year returns to itsoriginal one and winds its way from Marble Arch almost past The Cavendish Londonhotel as it heads along Piccadilly, so we will provide the perfect base fromwhich to view this colourful, vibrant and fun spectacle.
Unmissable
With so many wonderfully unmissable things happening thissummer, many related to the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, it’s been hard topick out things to recommend this month. One thing that definitely needs to beseen though is ‘Superbloom’ within the moat of the Tower of London.During spring, over 20 million mixed seeds were sown within a specially designedlayout to provide an eruption of colour and patterns until the 18th Septemberwhich changes each month and attracts pollinators to the urban space. Onarrival, visitors grab a mat to slide down into the moat before following theroute through the vibrant display. Tickets to Superbloom include entrance tothe Tower where you will see the Crown Jewels, Beefeaters and the infamousRavens.
West End shows are also on the cards again with manyunmissable performances throughout the coming months. Some of our favouritesinclude; ‘Anything Goes’ showing from 25th June at the BarbicanTheatre – a feel-good musical comedy on the high seas featuring some classictunes and a brilliant cast. Transport yourself to Africa with a visit to thelong-running ‘Lion King’ at the Lyceum Theatre and be wowed by Simba and hisfamily’s wonderful array of costumes and spectacular sets. Or for a twist onthe traditional West-End performance, take in the fabulous comedy that is‘Legally Blonde’ at the Regent’s Park open air theatre – spend a summer eveningunder the trees whilst experiencing this musical delight. Don’t forget thatmany of the West End theatres are also within walking distance of The CavendishLondon, so enjoy a summer stroll before or after your chosen performance.

The RA summer exhibitionhas run uninterrupted since 1769 and features art in all forms from prints andpaint to film and sculpture. Although the summer exhibition has paid entry, many other exhibitions and displays within the RA can be visited for free atyour leisure.
