London 2012 - Take Advantage of Sunny Skies and Calm Streets

Many of you are in London for the Olympics and in our second week of events we have seem sunshine, calm and efficient travel. Our fears of rushing, queues and panic we not realised and with this in mind we asked our Head Concierge Richard to advise on the best way to get from your room to event, taking advantage of the sunny weather and calm Capital.

"Well firstly I would say take advantage of the city! London is usually busy, windy and often raining however since the Olympics have started we have seen lots of sunshine. Many people have left London for the Olympic fortnight to escape overcrowding and delays getting to work, this has made a huge difference in the streets and is a perfect opportunity for tourists to take in London.

Although we are a short walk to Green Park tube station why not take a little longer to stroll down to St James' Park station? It is a lovely walk through an interesting part of London and from the station you can catch the District Line out to West ham and from there you can walk to the Olympic stadium.

All stations have been comprehensively signposted and I would say it is impossible to stray too far from your route. Don't be afraid of exploring, there are a huge amounts of stewards than man the stations and all are extremely helpful in guiding you on your way.

Any guest at the hotel can come and see us at the Concierge desk and let us know what tickets they have, we can then put together a more scenic route which takes full advantage of the sunny skies and the smiling Londoners and as our gold medals increase the atmosphere on the London streets will only get better!"
