TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
At the Cavendish we understand that one size may not fit all and that our employees are individuals with unique training and development needs. Upon joining the Company everyone is enrolled on our Hotel Induction. The aim of the Induction is to inform you of the Company, our history, present and future and our values. We also aim to equip you with the knowledge of the business and local area in order for you to be able to relay this information to our guests and deliver a flawless and informative service. You will also undertake a departmental induction within the first four weeks of your time at the Cavendish and this training focuses on departmental procedures and standards. We will also ensure you are provided with the skills required to carry out your job, whether this is through shadowing a colleague, cross training in another department or attending an in-house or external course.
To ensure you have a full understanding of the Company values and ethos, you will also go through our two SHINE training programmes which will give you a full understanding of our Vision & Values, the customer journey and how we approach service excellence at the hotel.
For our employees who are looking to develop their skills and further their career, once you have settled into your role, we asses your individual needs in order to tailor a training solution to you. We currently have employees who have enrolled in further education, have attended courses on and off site or are involved in our Management Development Programme which is delivered by our Hotel Manager. This covers topics including; delegation, time management, prioritisation & objective setting and aims to provide aspiring managers with the techniques and knowledge they need to be able to manage a successful team in the future.
