The Cavendish London has been honoured for its sustainability measures at a prestigious awards ceremony held to recognise the very best of English tourism. The only London hotel to be named a winner for its eco-friendly qualities, the Cavendish picked up a Silver award at the Enjoy England Awards For Excellence bash, held by Visit England, the nation’s tourist board.
Visit England commended The Cavendish for having “special employees creating special experiences for guests,” and singled out the hotel’s sustainable restaurant concept Petrichor - which targets 100% ethically-sourced ingredients - for special praise.
The Award in Excellence gong is the latest in a stack of awards the independent London hotel has won for its ethical practices. With a Gold Award from Green Tourism London, a Gold Award in Sustainable Tourism in last December’s Visit London Awards, and 3-Star Accreditation from the Sustainable Restaurant Association, guests can be sure that they are staying in one of the most environmentally aware hotels in the country.
And as the hotel - headed up by managing director Ciaran Fahy ? has also been lauded for its quality as an employer and for its top service, with three-star Best Company accreditation and an AA Rosette Award, visitors are guaranteed an all-round top-quality hotel experience.
Master Innholder Fahy said: “This latest award demonstrates the fantastic standing of the hotel as a sustainable business, not just on a London-scale, but a national one.
“To be the only London hotel on the very select list chosen by the Visit England panel is both an honour and a reflection of the hard work the team here has been doing to realise our ambition of becoming the best four-star hotel in London while remaining true to our ethical principles.”
