The Cavendish London was the first hotel to be awarded Gold
in the Green Tourism for London Scheme launched by The Mayor of London in 2009.
Our second annual audit was completed in July 2010 and we were delighted to
maintain our Gold Accreditation with our score going up to 84%. The Auditor
recognized us for our very strong green credentials and that our commitment to
the environment has been demonstrated with considerable efforts to achieve our
objective of 100% sustainable produce in Petrichor Restaurant .
Our goal is to be
the first hotel restaurant to achieve Gold Accreditation from the Sustainable Restaurant Association launched in 2009. The Audit covers ten areas: commitment to sustainability, actions to
reduce energy and water consumption, Social Responsibility, Recycling,
Communication to Guests and Staff.
All the management team and staff are engaged with care
about the environment and our community. The audit is attached and we will
evaluate all the recommendations and build them into our Business Plan for the
coming year to continue to reduce our environmental impact.
