Reason 1 - 2012 Hours To Go
Olympic Stadium, 5th May 2012
This special ticketed event called '2012 Hours to Go: An Evening of Athletics and Entertainment' will begin at 7pm with the final hour of the BUCS Visa Outdoor Athletics Championships evening session. After the athletics a celebrity host will be joined by famous faces including Olympians and Paralympians, for a series of stunts, games, challenges and prizes. The 40,000 strong-audience will be narrowed down to one lucky winner who will be brought into the middle of the Stadium to officially open the venue.

In a unique collaboration this major new production is adapted by award-winning director Rupert Goold and staged by threesixty, who gained international acclaim for their first production, Peter Pan. Staged in the state of the art threesixty theatre tent in Kensington Gardens this visually stunning live production will use threesixty's ground-breaking surround video and enchanting puppetry to bring to life the magic of Narnia in one of the world's best-loved stories.

One of France's most successful choreographers presents his award-winning fairytale ballet with costumes by Jean Paul Gaultier. Preljocaj's precision modern ballet is backed by a score made up of extracts from Mahler's symphonies and there are dramatic sets by Thierry Leproust.

For the last 38 years St Martin's has been the home of The Mousetrap, more than half of its record breaking run! On 25th November 2012 The Mousetrap will celebrate its 60th Birthday, a Diamond Jubilee. Agatha Christie's great play has been thrilling audiences from around the world for as long as HRH Queen Elizabeth II has been on the throne. During this phenomenal 60 year run there have been no fewer than 403 actors and actresses appearing in the play, 124 miles of shirts have been ironed and over 426 tons of ice cream sold.
