Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is celebrated the 4th Thursday in November, the day before Black Friday. It is a national holiday celebrated in the US. It is also celebrated in Canada but in October. Originally, it was celebrated by the pilgrims in the New World in 1621 after their first harvest. Following President Abraham Lincoln’s decision, it became a national holiday in 1863.

This celebration is also a perfect occasion to feast with the traditional Thanksgiving menu which usually includes roasted turkey served with cranberry sauce and sausage stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie.

The day following Thanksgiving, Black Friday, is dedicated to shopping and is considered to mark the beginning of the Christmas season with amazing promotional sales. With a similar idea, the following Monday called Cyber Monday has been created in 2005 to encourage people to shop online where great deals are available.
