Queens Coronation; celebrating 60 years of Tradition, Innovation and Excellence

This year Buckingham Palace will be home to a one-off event this Summer. The theme is Tradition, Innovation and Excellence. For years Britain has been renowned for its traditions and pastimes. This year, visitors will be able to enjoy many of those such as morning coffee, afternoon tea as well as having the chance to create their very own royal hamper, with some of the best produce from around the UK.  

 Visitors will not only be able to sample some of the finest food available, but are also able to purchase them. In addition there will be a Tasting and Demonstration Stage, where visitors can see professional chefs and food producers demonstrate their skills and expertise. Exhibiting in the food and drink section will be famous British brands such as Bendicks, Walkers Shortbread and Pimms.


 As part of the Homes and Gardens exhibition at the festival, visitors will be able to walk through a variety of spectacular sets which will represent the British creativity which will be inspirational. Whether it is a stunning luxury bathroom sanctuary or an elegant space for cooking or entertaining, the British design on display will be a stunning example of the creativity which Britain's have displayed over the years and will continue to display into the long future.Included in this exhibition will be Chelsea based antiques dealer Rogers De Rin, who in 2004 were appointed a Royal Warrant. They will be showcasing a variety of antiques which include Staffordshire pottery animals and Scottish Wemyss Ware.


Included in the festival will be a Design and Technology exhibit. Set in the gardens, visitors will be able to see first-hand the advances in technology and innovations that has been achieved during the 60 years of Her Majesty the Queen's Reign. Not only will visitors see the milestones in technology over the years but they will also get an insight in the way technology will be utilised in the future, from the very best in British cutting edge technology and design. As part of the exhibit, World leaders W1 Cars will showcase the Chauffeur services that have been serving the Royal household for the past seven years and have the most up to date service in the industry, including hybrid cars, international journeys and tracking technology. In addition innovators, Roberts Radio who are the industry leaders in portable radios, will be exhibiting their achievements including "the first DAB/FM Radio for the iPod" and "the first truly portable DAB/WiFi radio"


To top off the festival, Buckingham Palace will be host to a spectacular evening Gala which will be celebrating the past 60 years in Performing Arts with a particular focus on youth. Taking place on the evenings if the 11th - 13th July, this evening gala will be hosted by the events partners Jaguar Land Rover, GlaxoSmithKline and Bentley. The gala will be opened by the Fanfare Trumpeters from the Household Division. Followed by Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, one of the most loved international sopranos and a mentor to young artists, who will be singing the National Anthem. The evenings will also consist of British bred artists, such as the renowned singer Katherine Jenkins, Russell Watson, Katie Melua, Laura Wright and many more.

 As part of the tribute to performing arts, there will be a paid tribute. A chance to reflect on the leadership Britain has had in music, television and film with a theatrical dance performance championing some of Britain's iconic films such as The Avengers and the world famous James Bond.
